Copernicus Law is a leader in this burgeoning field enforcing your rights and protecting your ideas online. These new venues of dispute resolution often bring about your most economical solutions. Again, you must know which tools are available and which are the best to use.

Marketplace Removals

Companies can protect their intellectual property from abuse in online marketplaces through established channels for each marketplace, such as Amazon.com Inc.’s Brand Registry or eBay Inc.’s Verified Rights Owner (VeRO) program. Copernicus Law also has extensive experience in Amazon.com, Inc.’s experimental Project Zero program, also called Utility Patent Neutral Evaluation (UPNE) allowing for removal of patent infringing content.

Online Takedowns

A framework of US and international laws (such as the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)) protect online use of copyrighted and trademarked materials. The owners of this intellectual property may request infringing material be removed from websites through appropriate internet service providers (ISPs).

Cybersquatting

Online registrars must follow the ICANN’s Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) providing that abusive forms domain name registrations (e.g., cybersquatting) may be addressed through approved dispute-resolution providers for companies that own affected trademarks.
